Dear Friend,
May the God of unending mercy capture your thoughts and draw you closer to Himself today.
"The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground" (1 Samuel 3:19). Everything that Samuel said had the impact that God wanted it to have. That's powerful! God has not changed since the time of Samuel. Would you pray that my words would have that same anointing from God?
Praise Item:
• Our Annual Worship Leader Summit was held at the beginning of April. Some who have attended many times said it was the best ever. I don't know for certain about that, but I do know that God worked mightily in the heart's and lives of His people there... including mine. People left refreshed and ready to press foward in His love. Praise the Lord!
Prayer Items:
• In the past couple of weeks we have had two seminars cancel for this year, one in June that, with such short notice, will be hard to replace. We also just found out that the seminar coming up in Gainesville, Georgia, on May 10, has just 14 people pre-registerd. That may be an all-time low for us when working with a host church. We're not sure what all this means, but please pray.
• We are now scheduling almost exclusively for 2009. Besides the June cancellation, we have just one other weekend—October 11 (the other cancellation)—still available this year. Although we're perplexed by the cancellations, we still believe that the Lord is guiding us. Please continue to pray that God would lead us to places where this ministry will be most beneficial.
• I am nearly finished with a complete rewrite (update, expansion, revision) of my first book, Keys to Becoming an Effective Worship Leader. We hope to release the new version this fall. Please pray as I work at completing this task.
• Have you checked out our new venture? WorshipMinistryDevotions.com. we'll be launching it this month. It's not quite ready yet, but it's close. We would still love to hear your thoughts and any feedback you might have. Preliminary response has been extremely postive, and we believe this will benefit a lot of people. Please pray for us as we work on completing the details in the next few weeks.
• By the way, I am no longer the Director of Curriculum and Training for WorshipMinistryU.com. I still believe in this venture, but some changes in the program made it a less-than-ideal fit for my gifts and abilities. I will still offer general consulting, but my day-to-day activities have ended. (I hope this means I'll have more time for writing.)
• And, as always, please continue to pray for our tech consultant, Phil Mahder. Please ask God to grant wisdom and the insight to Phil in order to accomplish His plans and purposes.
