John Barcanic, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

John Barcanic has been training worship leaders for almost 20 years. A proven developer of leaders with a reputation for excellence in worship leading, training, and coaching, he brings a unique combination of experiences to the table. He has served as a worship leader, a pastor, a missionary, and as a leadership coach.

After studying Jazz and Music Composition at DePaul University in Chicago, John went on to attend Moody Bible Institute and continued his theological training at Sioux Falls Seminary. He tackles musical, theological, relational, and leadership challenges with equal enthusiasm and facility.

As an ordained pastor and certified leadership coach John has helped churches, pastors, and worship leaders from dozens of denominational backgrounds in 10 countries on four continents.

John has been married to his wife, Kathy, for twenty years.

John Chisum, Grand Rapids, Michigan

An ordained minister, worship artist, music publisher, producer and seasoned songwriter, John Chisum has used his broad musical talents with great diversity for over 20 years. Widely known for his songs recorded by Christian artists Ron Kenoly, Steve Green, Larnelle Harris, The Gaither Vocal Band, Truth, First Call, The Cathedrals and many of Integrity's Hosanna! Music recordings, John has been a long-time music industry professional in publishing, A&R, writer and producer roles for over 200 projects.

John studied classical voice and has served in seven local churches since 1980. Currently John is the Pastor of Celebration at Fair Haven Ministries in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A popular clinician in the area of worship for many years, John has appeared in every major denominational church setting and many non-denominational venues.

Gerrit Gustafson, Nashville, Tennessee

Gerrit Gustafson served as a church planting pastor and teacher for 15 years before becoming part of the original Creative Team of Integrity Music in 1985. Through Integrity, Gerrit has worked with nationally known worship leaders and songwriters in helping to plan and create many of the recordings in the early years of the company. The phenomenal growth of this pioneering praise and worship company led to teaching opportunities for Gerrit all over the world.

As teaching became an increasing part of Gerrit's life, he served Integrity as a consultant and later started his own company, WholeHearted Worship, which creates recordings and other worship resources that help accompany worship. Not content just to theorize, Gerrit has always been actively involved in songwriting and producing resources to serve the Body of Christ. Gerrit is also involved in conducting Worship Schools -- Saturday-only worship intensives that are co-hosted with local churches and ministries.

Gerrit and his wife, Himmie, and their family live in the Nashville area.

Jim Hohenstein, Greenfield Township, Maine

Jim Hohenstein has been a worship director and/or church leader for 18 years. Additionally, he served independently as a worship mentor for several years. Jim's 22-year walk with the Lord has included being a worship coach, leader, and discipleship director for folks from many different backgrounds. His emphasis is on team leading/development and practical and spiritual worship preparation. His life journey has led to a down-to-earth, hands-on approach to sharing experiential and biblically-based knowledge and wisdom.

A native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Jim and his wife, Kathy, have lived in Greenfield Township, Maine, since 2003. One of Jim's biggest life accomplishments was his Appalachian Trail backpacking adventure (2,172 miles, 8 months).

Jim is brand new to WorshipLeadingCoach.com and will be available for coaching in mid-January 2011.

Nathan Lawrence, Kansas City, Missouri

Nathan Lawrence began leading worship in 1994. While working on his degree in vocal music education, he led worship at a variety of churches and Bible studies. In fact, Nathan helped start a college contemporary worship event called Selah, which drew over 200 students on a weekly basis to offer worship to God together. He also sang with the world-renowned St. Olaf College Choir.

From 2002-2009, he served as Worship Arts Director at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Louis, where their music ranged from traditional hymns to modern rock. In those seven years, the church grew from roughly 800 people in Sunday worship to around 1100. During that time Faith also became a multi-site church, worshiping across three video-worship venues in two states, each with live worship teams. Nathan was the overseer for all of the worship at all three sites.

Nathan plays both piano and guitar, has been recorded on over a dozen albums, and has written more than 60 original worship songs. He is now the worship leader at Networks Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Nathan has been happily married to his wife Amber since 2002.

Rory Noland, Chicago, Illinois

Rory Noland is the director of Heart of the Artist Ministries, an organization dedicated to serving artists in the church. A songwriter, speaker, church leader, and consultant, Rory is also the author of three books, all published by Zondervan:

  • The Heart of the Artist: A Character-Building Guide For You and Your Ministry Team
  • Thriving as an Artist in the Church: Hope and Help For You and Your Ministry Team
  • The Worshiping Artist: Equipping You and Your Ministry Team to Lead Others in Worship

Rory currently serves part-time as Director of Worship at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and also leads worship for the Transforming Center, a ministry that cares for the souls of pastors and leaders.

Randy Rothwell, Denver, Colorado

Randy Rothwell has been actively involved in the ministry of praise and worship since the mid 1970s. He has been the guest worship leader on four of Integrity's Hosanna! Music live worship recordings. He was also involved in conducting worship seminars and conferences with Integrity Music's Worship International team.

Randy joined with his friend, Gerrit Gustafson and together they taught worship seminars and workshops around the country. Along the way, they created several CD projects and helpful tools for church worship teams with the company, WholeHearted Worship.

A prolific guitarist, Randy usually leads worship from the acoustic guitar. However, he also plays piano, bass, percussion and loves working with bands and music teams to develop their sound, music and spiritual depth.

Together with his wife, Dana, Randy currently lives in Denver, Colorado where he serves as the Director of Worship for St. John's Lutheran Church in Washington Park.

Jon Sherry, Sandusky, Michigan

As a result of being called into the ministry at the age of 15, Rev. Jon Sherry pursued, and graduated in 1985 with, a BA in Church Music from Bethel College in Indiana. He married his best friend, Jodi, in 1983 and together they have had four children.

Since 1995, Jon has personally led three congregations through Christ-centered worship transitions. The success of these experiences has formed some foundational, scriptural understandings that has empowered those in leadership to conduct necessary change while strengthening the most important attribute of the local church, the unity of the body.

In August of 2007 he was called to serve Open Door Missionary Church as the lead pastor. Open Door continues to be a growing, healthy congregation located in Sandusky, Michigan.

David Wright, Dayton, Ohio

David Wright is an ordained minister, worship leader, producer, arranger, and songwriter, who has a passion for teambuilding. For over 8 years he served a church planting organization working with local pastor's helping them build their worship ministries/worship teams from the ground up.

He currently is a partner in The Growth Coach, a business coaching firm dedicated to assisting business owners drive the success of their business and balance their personal lives. He also serves as Worship Pastor at New Covenant Church in Middletown, Ohio. David has three coaching certifications and has worked for over 34 years with local, national and international organizations, churches and ministries. David also has over ten years experience providing workshops, team-building retreats, seminars and training for organizations, non-profits and businesses.

David has been married to Adrienne for 34 years and they have two children, Jessica and Patrick.
